Ingredients

  • 2 ounces Maker’s Mark Bourbon
  • 1.5 ounces Simple Syrup (or 3 Sugar Cubes)
  • Mint Leaves (fresh)
  • Crushed Ice

Preparation

In a traditional Mint Julep silver cup (or rocks glass), gently muddle 4 or 5 fresh leaves of mint with simple syrup (or sugar) just until the leaves are slightly bruised.

Add Maker’s Mark bourbon and stir.

Fill with crushed ice overflowing the top of the cup.

Garnish with fresh mint sprig and serve with a straw. (The amount of sugar can be adjusted according to desired sweetness.)
