Southerly Buster

Traditionally the Southerly Buster is served in a Pewter mug; this drink still remains the favourite after golf drink for members, its origins date back to the 1960 possibly even earlier.

Ingredients

  • 1.5 liter Bottle Scotch (3/4 of the scotch should be remaining in the bottle)
  • White Curacao-90ml
  • Angostura bitters-120ml
  • Lime cordial-120ml
  • Dry Ginger Ale
  • Ice cubes

Garnish

  • ​Lemon and orange rounds 

Preparation

Top the 3/4 bottle of Scotch with White Curacao, Lime cordial, and Angostura bitters. Shake gently. This is the base of Southerly Buster.

Assembly

In a pewter mug or fine scotch glass, pour 1 shot of the southerly buster base over ice, then top with the dry ginger ale. 

Garnish with lemon and orange rounds.
